Welcome to the Garden railway page of the

FSMR website

 Page update 11-01-2008

For the last couple of years, we have had the pleasure of having I &G steam attend the various Stapleford steam festivals. The enthusiasm and spirit of this husband and wife team persuaded, myself (the fsmr webmaster and an SMR driver) to enter the world of garden railways in 2004. For those of us not fortunate to own 20 acres of land (the minimum to build a decent size 10 ¼gauge railway )“ it is an interesting alternative which allows a “normal garden “ to be transformed into a railway paradise, while retaining  the plants (if you wish to!!)

It is very addictive though and needs deeper pockets than the usual Hornby OO!!!

Having had successful weekends at the 2007 June and August events, Ian and Gill will be attending both of the

2008 events and it is hoped to also have some LGB display running, with live steam. Bring your credit cards as when you see the models, you will want to buy!!!

They will have an extensive display of Hartland, Accucraft, USA trains and LGB rolling stock and track, as well as the usual full range of modelling supplies at the event
