Under normal public operation, trains run straight into the
station terminus. A new loco(s) is then
reversed onto the train having been turned on the triangle head-shunt behind
the camera. The loco(s) trapped in the terminus are then able to follow the
train out to the top curve point prior to carrying out this manoeuvre. Four
locos (the Saint and Jubilee are always paired together) are the minimum needed
to carry this out using both platforms thus as soon as one train arrives, the other is ready to depart
