Welcome to the Picture 20

page of the FSMR website

This view taken at the Easter 2000 members steam up, shows two FSMR members at work breaking the concrete at the Haven point. This is to allow track realignment and also installation of underground signal cable ducting as part of the train detection and signaling project that is currently underway.

The normal operational direction is over the straight ahead track and across the Haven river bridge, the train then rejoins the return line up the bank after the journey around the loop back from the right, through the sprung point

The sprung point eliminates the need for any signalman a this location, although for added safety and operational reasons, a box is usually opened on public days to control this section (but not the point) allowing two train operation.
